NYX HD Concealer: An Urban Decay Naked Skin Dupe?

DSC_6006I recently purchased the NYX HD concealer after seeing a blog post that compared it to the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer. I’ve been using and enjoying the Naked Skin for months so the prospect of a drugstore dupe certainly caught my attention. I had to give it a go! A Natural Deodorant That Works!

DSC_5863If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you may have seen me talking about my quest for a natural deodorant that actually works. I’ve been desperate to give up the easily accessible anti perspirant deodorants found in supermarkets and on the high street since learning of the unhealthy ingredients like aluminum that can be found in them. Apparently our bodies can absorb up to 60% of what we put on our skin. If you look closely at some of the ingredients in your existing products, this is pretty concerning. Those accessible anti perspirants I just mentioned are particularly guilty of this. So, I picked up a few samples by The Natural Deodorant Company and I’d like to share my thoughts on them with you today! Continue reading “A Natural Deodorant That Works!”

MOA Green Balm
This lovely little pot of goodness is an all natural multi purpose balm that can be used to heal or as a cleansing balm. I’m enjoying using this as a cleansing balm in the evening when my skin feels dry and needs a little help. It leaves my skin feeling plumped, smooth and nourished. Ty has been using this on his skin when it gets sore and sensitive after shaving and it seems to be helping! Continue reading “Current Favourites”

Finally Trialling Glossier Skincare

This month I finally managed to get my grubby paws on a couple of Glossier skincare products which I’ll be reviewing for you guys today. I have been obsessing over this brand from afar for months now, desperate to try some of their products. Sadly for everyone outside of the US and Puerto Rico shipping is not available to us. But where there’s a will there’s a way and I’ll go into further detail of how I got these products at the end of this post. For now, let’s jump right into the reviews! Cruelty Free Brand Updates

CF Brand Updates2As a cruelty free consumer I am constantly emailing brands to find out about their animal testing status. I decided that it would be more helpful for everyone if I shared the responses I get rather than just adding brands to my cruelty free or avoid list. Below are the recent responses that I’ve had from brands regarding their animal testing policies. Continue reading “Cruelty Free Brand Updates”

A Pale Girls Guide to Glowing Skin

DSC_5887In the last few months I’ve come to learn about highlighters and have started to experiment with products in the search for beautiful glowing skin. It can be difficult to find a good highlighter for pale skin that doesn’t show up too dark and obvious on the skin. I’ve quickly learnt that for my light skin tone a white/pearly based highlight is my favourite. Below I will share with you the three products that I’ve been using recently to illuminate my skin. IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream

DSC_5878Summer appears to have shown itself here in the UK so it’s only fitting that I should make some changes to my makeup to accommodate for the change in the weather. I decided to try out the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream. I’ve heard good things about it and it has an SPF of 50+ which makes this perfect as a summer base product. Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Sunkissed – £20.00
I don’t have a lot of practice using bronzer so it’s a product I’m a little wary of using and accidentally going overboard with. This bronzer is easy to use and perfect for fair skin as it has a peachy undertone as opposed to an orange one. This warms up my face nicely and leaves it looked naturally sunkissed.
