Lush Skincare Saviours

Hi all! It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything for various reasons which I won’t go in to today. It feels good to be writing and inspired again! I have struggled quite a bit with my skin the last few months which has been one of the reasons I haven’t been blogging. To be truthful, I haven’t really been wearing or buying much makeup and I’ve been playing around with some new skincare but haven’t quite settled on anything as yet so I just didn’t have anything to talk about.

However, there are two stand out products from Lush one of which I’ve used for a while and one which is a very new addition to my skincare but I felt I had to discuss with you today. My skin was normal and balanced last year. Since December, it has become dry particularly on my forehead to the point of flaking. My forehead also appears to be congested and has little bumps under the surface. As I said, I’m still yet to settle on a skincare routine that I’m happy with but the following two products have really been helping me.

First, we have the Full of Grace Serum which looks like a mini bar of soap. I initially picked this up months ago because it came highly recommended by Jkissa and I’m so glad I did. This little bar of wonder is packed with skin nourishing ingredients like murumuru butter, almond oil, rose oil etc. I love to apply this to my face at night just before bed. You can either warm the bar up on your fingertips or simply glide it straight onto your face. I prefer to apply it straight to my face and then massage it into my skin. Aside from it’s skin nourishing abilities, I also love this serum because it soothes my skin. When my skin is feeling very dry it can get uncomfortable and feel irritated. Full of Grace does an excellent job at soothing any irritated areas and I’d recommend it for any sensitive skins out there. I’ve also been told that this is an great product to use underneath a face mask to allow the mask to penetrate the skin further.

Next, is the most recent acquirement to my skincare routine the Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser. I’ve probably been using this product for about a week now and I am very surprised by how much I like it. I recently went in to my local Lush store and asked the assistant if she could recommend me something for my dry skin. This product was one of the recommendations she gave me. I’ve heard people discuss this cleanser in the past but I’ve always avoided it. In truth, I wouldn’t have taken a second look at this cleanser had she not explained it to me. I personally feel that this cleanser can look intimidating as it’s not your conventional cleanser. In texture, it’s like a crumbly play dough with little bits of lavender flower and ground almonds mixed in. To use, you break off some product and mix it with a very small amount of water in the palm of your hand to create a paste and then apply to your face. I’ve ignored this product when I’ve seen it on the shelf but within maybe a day or two of using it, I noticed that my skin was glowing. It’s remarkable. What sold me on this in the store was the fact that it does provide some mild exfoliation thanks to the ground almonds that give it that grit. I think we can all agree that 2 in 1 products are fantastic not only for ease but also to save some money! I’ve held off on buying a separate exfoliant now that I have this. If like me you’ve been put off trying this cleanser based on it’s appearance, just give it a chance.

I really hope that this first post back was a good one!
I’m certainly excited about these products and I’m happy to share them with you.
