MOA Green Balm
This lovely little pot of goodness is an all natural multi purpose balm that can be used to heal or as a cleansing balm. I’m enjoying using this as a cleansing balm in the evening when my skin feels dry and needs a little help. It leaves my skin feeling plumped, smooth and nourished. Ty has been using this on his skin when it gets sore and sensitive after shaving and it seems to be helping!
Lush Dream Cream
This has very quickly become my favourite product to use on my hands. The Dream Cream soothes the skin right away and I find that I see results in terms of healing in a short space of time. My fiance likes it a lot as well. His hands were in particularly bad shape not so long ago and the dream cream healed them within a matter of days. There’s a reason this is a bestseller at Lush and I know it’s something I’m going to repurchase when this tub runs out.
Art Naturals Argan Oil Hair Mask
Firstly, right off the bat this product smells lovely. Don’t ask me what it smells of because I have no idea. All I know is that I like it. This leaves my hair feeling very soft and nourished.
BECCA Mineral Blush in Flowerchild
This has been my go to blush lately and has become a firm favourite in my makeup collection. Flowerchild has a beautiful sheen to it that gives your skin a healthy glow. It’s really gorgeous and gives the skin a natural flushed appearance. If you’re after makeup products that add glow to the skin this summer, I highly recommend this one!
After hearing a few people talk about this Netflix Original series and hearing that Winona Ryder was starring in it I decided to give it a go. Stranger Things is a perfect concoction of The X-Files, Goonies, Wayward Pines, Stephen King, Spielberg with an 80’s synth Drive like soundtrack to boot. If you like your supernatural/sci-fi shows you’ll be all over this! Even if you’re not usually into that sort of thing I think you should give this a go. I am absolutely in love with this show and incredibly impressed with The Duffer Brothers who I had never even heard of before this show. They seem to have appeared from thin air but my God, they are creative geniuses. It’s a big claim to make but I honestly think this might be one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. It was a masterpiece from start to finish and I genuinely couldn’t find a single fault with it.
The Joe Rogan Experience
This last month I came across Joe’s podcasts after discovering his recent one with Russell Brand (which was a great podcast by the way.) Since listening to that one I’ve downloaded several more and have been listening to them pretty much daily. Two of my other favourites that I’ve listened to so far have been with Molly Crabapple and Christina Sommers. Joe has a wide variety of guests on his show from comedians, scientists, philosophers to sportsmen and women. It’s safe to say that I’m obsessed. More than anything I just love getting to hear from these people from all walks of life as they share their knowledge and life experiences. You can download the podcasts on iTunes or you can watch them on Joe’s website or his YouTube channel.
Bill Hicks American Scream
This month I read a biography on the late comedian Bill Hicks. I enjoyed this book so much and it was one that I struggled to put down. When I finished this book I actually shed a few tears. Reading of Bill’s heroic fight against cancer, a fight that he sadly lost broke my heart. It’s just tragic. Bill’s most well known stand up Revelations is now on Netflix in the UK and I’d highly recommend that you all give it a watch. After watching it I got to thinking about comedians today and what they talk about. I realised, there is no one out there doing what Bill did. Bill took on controversial but real topics; drugs, war, government corruption etc. Despite his stand up being centred around the events that were happening at that time (the 80’s/90’s) his words are still chillingly relevant today. I can’t think of anyone at this point in time who is doing what he did and that in itself fills me with sadness. If you’ve never heard of Bill Hicks before please check him out. He was a really wonderful man.
If it hadn’t been for a post that Brian Fallon shared on his Instagram telling people to listen to this song I never would’ve thought to listen to Elle. The only song I had heard by her was Ex’s and Oh’s on the radio and I’m just not fussed on it. There are some really great tracks on the rest of the album though that I think are far better than what the radio stations are playing. For me the album gets great from Kocaine Karolina and onwards. Other favourites are Ain’t Gonna Drown which is full to the brim with badass attitude and Make You Smile which is a totally different upbeat, poppy love song. It’s not often that I get excited by modern music but Elle King has been a pleasant surprise.
As always, I’d love to hear about what you guys have been loving recently.
Also, have you seen Stranger Things? What did you think of it?
