Finally Trialling Glossier Skincare

DSC_5954
This month I finally managed to get my grubby paws on a couple of Glossier skincare products which I’ll be reviewing for you guys today. I have been obsessing over this brand from afar for months now, desperate to try some of their products. Sadly for everyone outside of the US and Puerto Rico shipping is not available to us. But where there’s a will there’s a way and I’ll go into further detail of how I got these products at the end of this post. For now, let’s jump right into the reviews!

Milky Jelly Cleanser – $18
As the name might suggest this cleanser has a gel like consistency. It does remove makeup effectively though it did not work so well when it came to breaking down my mascara. I prefer to use this when I have no makeup on either as second cleanse in the evening or first thing in the morning/post gym. This is a very gentle product which I like for a morning cleanse when I just something basic. Using this it did remind me of the Yes To Cucumbers Gel Cleanser in many ways. Both have similar consistencies, are gentle and I also feel that they are both soothing on the skin. I checked the Glossier ingredients list as I felt it may have also had cucumber, though it does not appear to. It does however include Rosewater, an ingredient that also helps to soothe the skin. I will say that whilst I have and am continuing to enjoy the Milky Jelly it isn’t a unique must have product. Seeing as we can’t get Glossier in the UK yet I’m sure that’ll be music to many of you who may have been itching to try this product. I don’t think you’d have a problem finding something similar elsewhere. If it were easily available here I would happily purchase it again though.

Priming Moisturizer – $25
Of the two products I’ve tried this is the one I like the most. I’d go as far as to say that I love it actually. This moisturiser is very hydrating and leaves the skin looking fresh and plump. My skin feels great after I’ve applied this in the morning and I’m already starting to worry about what I’ll do when I finish it. I think that the Too Faced Hangover Face Primer could be a similar product to this but I’ve only tried it on the back of my hand so I can’t say for sure. I will probably pick that up to try when I finish this tube in an attempt to fill the empty hole I predict it will leave in my life.

For those of you wondering how I got these in the UK, I ordered these through makeupaddictuk on Instagram. She bulk orders products from the US for beauty addicts like myself here in the UK. I’ve bought through her in the past and she’s always professional and reliable. However, it did end up being more expensive than I would’ve liked (no fault of makeupaddict, just the cost of shipping I guess) so I don’t think I’ll be ordering Glossier again. At least not until they start shipping internationally themselves. Let’s hope that happens soon because I’d love to try more from them!

    1. She’s great, I’ve ordered through her on 3 occasions now and I’ve never had any problems. You can request any US brand and she’ll order it for you so if there’s anything else you’re after she’s always an option! With regards to the Milky Jelly I’m enjoying using it I just don’t think it’s unique or outstanding to warrant the cost to get it over here. I think there’s a lot of products out there that are similar. The Yes To cleanser is just the one I know of from what I’ve tried 🙂 I really hope they start shipping here soon too. The struggle is real haha
