In the last few months I’ve come to learn about highlighters and have started to experiment with products in the search for beautiful glowing skin. It can be difficult to find a good highlighter for pale skin that doesn’t show up too dark and obvious on the skin. I’ve quickly learnt that for my light skin tone a white/pearly based highlight is my favourite. Below I will share with you the three products that I’ve been using recently to illuminate my skin.
To start I prime my face with the NYX Born to Glow Illuminating Primer. I first heard of this product from KathleenLights. Kathleen stated that this was very comparable to MAC’s strobe cream. I’ve never used MAC’s strobe cream but they certainly look very similar. It could well be a cruelty free dupe for the highly popular product.
Next I go in with a cream highlighter and I’m currently using the 3 Concept Eyes Shimmer Stick in Pink. This is a very exciting new addition to my makeup stash and to the Cult Beauty website. 3CE are an affordable, cruelty free Korean beauty brand! It’s rare to come across a Korean brand that’s cruelty free as the vast majority do sell their products in China. This is a beautiful cream highlight that provides a lovely natural looking glow when used alone. Korean beauty really focuses on the skin and giving it a healthy, youthful glow and this product certainly delivers to that effect. If you prefer to you could just leave it there, your skin will now have a gorgeous healthy glow to it.
If you’re a big lover of highlighter though you can go one step further and apply the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Pearl on top of that cream highlight. As soon as I heard that Becca had launched a white highlight I added it to my Pinterest list of beauty products to buy. This highlight really is white. For a moment when I first opened this I thought I’d made a mistake and should’ve gone for Moonstone but when applied it looks so pretty. If I get any darker throughout the summer I will probably have to put this away until the winter. I like to apply this with my Real Techniques Setting Brush which is great not only for setting your makeup but for applying highlighter too!
