Cruelty Free Brand Updates

cf brand updatesAs a cruelty free consumer I am constantly emailing brands to find out about their animal testing status. I decided that it would be more helpful for everyone if I shared the responses I get rather than just adding brands to my cruelty free or avoid list. Below are the responses that I’ve had from brands this week.

Louise Young Cosmetics
Hi Jordana,

Thank you for the enquiry.  Our makeup products are made in the UK and are not tested on animals.  The ingredients are not tested on animals and we do not sell or market in countries that require animal testing.

Hope this helps!

Best Wishes

Meraki
Dear Jordana

Thank you for your interest in meraki and your questions.

The products are not tested on animals or by any third party. They are produced in Denmark and regulated by Danish Law, which is one of the toughest regulations in the world. So our Danish supplier does not test on animals. Not matter what country we sell in our products is not tested on animals.

The only product which is not vegan friendly is our lip balm which contains Lanolin all other products are vegan products.

I hope this answered your questions, otherwise I can specify 🙂

Have a great day

Kind Regards

JorgObé Skincare
Hi Jordana,

thanks for your message.

Neither our products, nor the ingredients are tested on animals. Read more about this in the FAQ on our website:

http://jorgobe.co.uk

All of our products are vegan, too.

In which countries is animal testing required? We’re currently only selling our products in the UK, Scandinavia and Germany.

I hope I have answered your questions :))

Have a nice Wednesday.

Best regards
Luna Mortensen

The other day I noticed that there was a new brand on Cult Beauty that looked very exciting but was also Korean. A lot of Korean beauty brands are not cruelty free because they sell in China but there are a few that are so I get very excited to contact the company to see what they had to say. Please see below:

3CE (3 Concept Eyes)
Hi Jordana,

Thank you for contacting Stylenanda.
We really appreciate your interest with 3CE products.
Stylenanda, offers shipment to our Chinese customers.

The cosmetics from 3CE were not tested on any animals 🙂

If you need further assistance regarding this matter or anything else, please do not hesitate to contact us back.
Regards,
Hardy
I emailed back to check if the products are physically sold in Mainland China or online only and to check if the ingredients are tested on animals by the suppliers.

Hello Jordana,

Thank you for your prompt response 🙂
Currently, all 3CE products are available online only and we have no offline stores yet in mainland China.

3CE cosmetics is animal friendly and no ingredients nor materials were tested on animals.

Feel free to contact us back if you need more information regarding this matter 🙂

Regards,
Hardy

Malibu Sun
Dear Jordana,

Our products are not tested on animals by us or on our behalf, they are tested on human volunteers.

The ingredients historically have, in many cases, been tested for safety reasons on animals as is required – it would be very difficult for us as, a budget brand, to source all of our ingredients as free of animal testing, if not impossible.

Best regards
George

Once again, there are some very exciting new brands to add to the cruelty free list here! In particular I’m excited about Korean beauty brand 3 Concept Eyes. Unfortunately, there is one company here that are not cruelty free and that is Malibu Sun. They cannot confirm that their ingredients are free from animal testing and even go on to suggest that it is impossible. Nonsense. I will be looking for other sun protection brands to contact but if you’re struggling I was able to confirm that COOLA are cruelty free recently so I would suggest looking at them! As always I hope you found this post helpful!

  1. That’s great. Thank you for sharing. Interesting about Malibu Sun, cheaper to test on animals than humans, odd.. I think with sunscreen you need to also be aware of mineral oil and other chemicals that cause prickly heat, allergies and worse, linked to cancer. So many chemicals in sunscreen linked to what they are supposed to be protecting us from.. sad but true. Love, a cancer thriver xxx
