Summer appears to have shown itself here in the UK so it’s only fitting that I should make some changes to my makeup to accommodate for the change in the weather. I decided to try out the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream. I’ve heard good things about it and it has an SPF of 50+ which makes this perfect as a summer base product. When I think of CC creams and the like I think of a tinted moisturiser type product in terms of coverage. I was very surprised when I first dispensed some of this and saw just how thick it was. This provides a medium coverage that can be built up or sheered out depending on your preference. As you can see in the photo below it leaves a natural glowing finish to the skin.
I have the shade fair which is the lightest shade available and it matches my skin tone very well. I don’t have any issues with how this wears on my skin throughout the day and I do feel that it’s able to last throughout a long day. It is a thick consistency which sometimes I don’t like. When I want to thin it out and give my skin an added boost of hydration I add two drops of my Aphrodite Facial Oil from MOA (Magic Organic Apothecary.)
It does state on the box to reapply every 2 hours to ensure sun protection. I doubt very much people are going to do that as this is a makeup product as opposed to a sun protectant. Applying an SPF once isn’t going to protect you for the entire day so you should really use another product to protect your skin. Cult Beauty recently added a new product to their website that I think would be excellent for this. It’s the Make Up Setting Spray SPF 30 by COOLA. I recently contacted COOLA and confirmed their cruelty free status with them. You can read their response here for more details. I haven’t tried this yet and I’m arguing with myself whether to or not as it is a bit pricey. I do think it sounds like a fantastic product though as it’ll set your makeup whilst giving your skin that protection from the sun. Seeing as we’re talking about SPF’s I just thought I’d share that one with you guys!
