Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Sunkissed – £20.00
I don’t have a lot of practice using bronzer so it’s a product I’m a little wary of using and accidentally going overboard with. This bronzer is easy to use and perfect for fair skin as it has a peachy undertone as opposed to an orange one. This warms up my face nicely and leaves it looked naturally sunkissed.
Umberto Giannini Overnight Beauty Moisture Balm – £6.00
I’ve had this product for a long time now. I received this sample size in a Chrismas gift set about two years ago. I used it on and off but recently I’ve been making an effort to use it regularly. It smells lovely and I’ve noticed that my hair feels a lot softer when I’m using this.
B. Clean Melting Gel Cleanser – £6.99
Considering I bought this knowing nothing about the product out of pure curiosity after seeing it on the shelf I’m delighted to say that I’ve really been loving it! I’ve never come across this sort of product before. It starts out as a gel that melts into an oil. It’s perfect for removing makeup.
Original Source Mint and Tea Tree Shower Gel – £2.30
I have really been loving the Original Source shower gel’s of late. I’m surprised that prior to going cruelty free I had never tried them before. They are super affordable and smell really nice. In particular I like the mint and tea tree scent. Whenever you need that extra zing of freshness the mint shower gel is a go to. I especially like to use it first thing in the morning or after the gym.
You Dirty Scrub Vegan Coffee Body Scrub – £6.29
I’ve written a full review on this product here already but I had to mention it again because I have genuinely been loving it a lot this month! I use this all over my face and body and I have to stop myself from touching my face afterwards because this scrub leaves it so damn soft. They’re a lovely small indie company based here in the UK. I can’t recommend them enough to you guys. Their products are affordably priced and top quality.
The Natural Deodorant Co. Gentle Deodorant Cream with Coconut & Shea Mini- £5.00
If you’ve been following my blog you’ve probably heard me going on about wanting to make the switch to a natural deodorant. A few months back I bought one from the brand Jason that really didn’t work for me and I’ve been searching for something else ever since. I am so glad I picked up a sample of this because it works wonderfully and it keeps me smelling good all day. I’m probably going to do a post on these once I’ve tried one of the other jars that I bought from them further so I won’t go on too much. Just know that they work and they’re free from nasty ingredients! What’s not to like?
Caitlin Moran How to be a Woman – £6.29
I finally got around to picking this up and reading it after months of it sitting in my Amazon wish list. This book has a great mix of humour whilst also tackling serious issues. It had me laughing out loud at some points with Ty coming into the bedroom puzzled asking “what are you laughing at?” Other times it riled me up and made me want to shake my fist angrily in the air. In all seriousness though, it has opened my eyes up a bit. Not that I was blissfully unaware of how oppressed women are in some instances but I think the daily struggles women face have just become such standard everyday aspects of life to us that we don’t even take the time to question them anymore which is really sad when you think about it. As I got further and further into this book it had me thinking “God, being a woman is hard” and it is. Caitlin says that she likes to stop and ask “but are the men doing it?” whenever she sees something that she thinks is a bit off and that’s something that really stood out to me as a great way to approach sexism and inequality and to identify it in the first place. I think that this would be a beneficial read for men and women and I highly recommend it!
Sali Hughes Beauty
I recently discovered Sali Hughes from a video that she did with the Queen of skincare Caroline Hirons. Since then I’ve been watching a lot of her videos and really enjoying her content. Her In the Bathroom series is amazing and I’d highly recommend you guys check it out. They’re long, in depth interviews so I love putting them on when I’m in the kitchen cooking for an hour or so. I wanted to share this particular video with you guys as since putting into practice Sali’s tips I haven’t had a single bad fringe day. If you wear a full fringe or ‘bangs’ as our friends across the pond like to call them you know the struggles of an uncooperative fringe and you should watch this video.
Another new discovery to me has been Rhian’s channel which I have been absolutely loving recently. Rhian has a great mix of content from beauty and fashion to vegan food and self care videos. She is such a lovely person and to be honest I just enjoy listening to her as she has such a soothing voice.
ASOS Lounge Pants with Tie – £25.00
I am someone who is all about the comfort. I bought these as I wanted some lounge pants that wouldn’t make me look a total slob whilst still being comfy. Well these are just that. They are very comfortable whilst still looking decent so if for any reason I have to answer the door I don’t need to feel judged by the postman over the fact that it’s 12pm and I’m still not properly dressed. Plus the material is very figure flattering. Just saying! I highly recommend.
This might seem like a weird thing to put in to a favourites post but this month I started going to the gym and it has honestly made me so much happier so I had to include it here. I’m debating whether or not to do a post on this all on it’s own just because it has improved by general well being so much and I’ve only been going for about 3-4 weeks now. If that’s something you’d be interested in let me know. If you’re thinking about joining a gym yourself I would say just do it. I had put it off for quite some time and it was daunting to begin with but now that I am going it’s not hard to find the motivation and I feel a lot better for it.
What have you guys been loving this month?
